Pakistan depends on low-cost carrier Turkish Pegasus Airlines for EU bloc

PIA to run Flights through Turkish low-cost Pegasus Airlines for EU bloc. The budget Airline will connect passengers from Karachi to EU, and Russia, to its destination capital cities London, Copenhagen (Denmark), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Frankfurt (Germany), Rome (Paris), Kyiv (Ukraine), Moscow (Russia), via Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, Istanbul.

Passengers, from Karachi, can fly to Istanbul by paying just US$310 (PKR 50,000). Since its acquisition by ESAS Holdings in 2015, Pegasus Airlines has been offering scheduled flights to the guests at a very competitive price. Not only Pegasus is low-cost, but it also offers punctual and comfortable transit-flights that operate with the newest Aircrafts.

Ban on PIA

Before our National carrier ban by EU, on 10th February published that “Turkish private airline Pegasus plans to launch flights to Pakistan.” PIA Flight operations banned by the EASA in June after fake license scandal, before the temporary ban PIA was operating Flights to capital cities of Spain, Denmark, Norway and Italy.


EU ban on PIA forces code-sharing Agreement with Turkish Airline Pegasus

As we have mentioned above that the Turkish Airline was reluctant signing a code-sharing-agreement with Pakistan International Airline due to the fake pilot license scandal, finally our National carrier has successfully signed this agreement with Pegasus Airlines and started offering the PIA customers over 25 other destinations including Greece.

Terms of code-sharing-agreement with Pegasus

Pakistan National carrier will be booking the full-ticket to the desired destinations and take its passengers to the Sabiha Gocke International Airport from where the passengers will embark on this onward journey with Turkish Airline Pegasus.

EU extends ban on PIA till December 21, 2020

According to an airline intelligence news website, EU’s Aviation Safety Agency rejected PIA appeal to resume flights to the EU using it’s own (aircraft) fleet. It is also mentioned on the website that the EU could extend the ban if the Civil Aviation Authority fails to take serious measures to improve safety. It was reported that PIA was prohibited from entering European airspace from July 1st, 2020.
