From ‘Grass to Glass’… The results were announced to the PSX by FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Ltd for a robust topline growth for consecutive eight quarters and registered a 12% growth in the year 2020.
Engro, now FrieslandCampina (Dutch) Engro was founded in 2005. With more than 32 billion rupees revenue recorded in 2018, FrieslandCampina Engro is Head Quartered in Karachi. Friesland Foods and Campina are two Dutch companies that joined in 2008. FrieslandCampina is one of the biggest Dairy producers in the world acquired 51% of shares in Engro Foods in 2016. In 2019 Engro Foods’ name changed to FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan. FCEPL’s main products are Olpers, Dairy Omung, Tarang (tea whitener), and Omoré.
The cost optimization and mix management policy adopted by the FrieslandCampina Engro boosts the growth and in the 3rd Quarter, it achieved a 220 basis points (bps) improvement in the gross margins.
Despite a very tough competition FrieslandCampina Engro’s Pro-Cal and Tarang Elaichi gained a rapid share in the market. Its Dairy & Beverages segment reported a revenue of PKR 28.9 billion led by its largest brand Olpers registered a 16% growth in the year 2020.
It was very challenging due to the Pak Rupee devaluation and record double digits inflationary level in the commodity price in the year 2020. The company recorded a Rupees 809 million loss in the same period last year shows healthy signs of growth for eight consecutive quarters. Its results for 3rd Quarter has registered a Rupees 321 million Profit After Tax.
